California Kids Triathlon
As one of the first kids-only triathlons to take place in all of California, this event offers a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere. What happens when your child participates in the California Kids Triathlon, They get some exercise (swimming, biking and running), a huge confidence boost, a chance to try something new (or return to an old favorite), and walk away with a medal around their neck and a huge sense of accomplishment.
Congrats to all our 2013 finishers! We hope that you enjoyed this year’s triathlon and we look forward to seeing you back next year on Sunday, August 3, 2014.

This event is designed for any child, ages 3-18, regardless of athletic ability or prior triathlon experience. The courses and distances were created to be achievable for all athletes, regardless of previous triathlon experience. The philosophy behind the event is Completion rather than Competition. We want all our young triathletes to walk away from the event with a sense of pride in knowing that they completed a triathlon. In doing so, the focus of the event is NOT on finish times, placing, etc. Every child receives a custom medal when they cross the finish line. That doesn’t mean that we don’t recognize the top performances, however. There are trophies for the top three finishers (boy/girl) per age division, and we provide chip timing with 3-way splits.
Keeping with our unique format, we also offer “Parent/Child Divisions” – a category we first offered in 2011 with overwhelming success. In this instance, a parent and child complete the entire race together in an unparalleled bonding experience. For the younger athletes, it provides a sense of comfort and security; for others, it is a chance for Mom or Dad and child to participate in a sporting event together (opportunities for this are uncommon).
CONGRATS to all the 2012 participants! You’re all Olympians in our book. View Race Results here.
