The Sacramento Running Association, who also host the California International Marathon, brings you the 9th Annual Credit Union SACTOWN Run!

The Credit Union Run SACTOWN features 10-mile and 5k race distances, as well as the UC Davis Children’s Hospital Miracle Mile fun run and fitness walk. The flat, fast course starts and finishes at the spectacular California State Capitol and leads runners through the “best of Sacramento.”

This event will also feature a Children’s Miracle Network pledge program in partnership with Credit Union Miracle Day

Register by Monday, April 1 to guarantee your shirt size. All runners registering after April 1 will be asked to pick up their shirts at the finish line, after the race.

The “Homemade Half”

Want to double your race day fun? Then sign up for the Homemade Half and register for both the 5k and the 10-mile! Benefits include:

  • Three medals–one for each race plus the Homemade Half medal!
  • Private start line location complete with gear check, fueling options, port potties and more!
  • Separate race day packet pick-up area in Homemade Half staging area.
  • Twice the challenge and twice the fun!

The 5k starts at 8:00am and the 10-mile at 8:50am, so you must be able to complete the 5k in a bit under 50 minutes in order to register for the Homemade Half. Hurry, only 100 spots available.

Run Shirtless!

Opt out of receiving your event shirt, and the cost of your shirt will be donated directly to the Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals. Select this option during your registration.

Credit Union 5k Three Runner Challenge & Political Animal 5k Team Competitions:
  • 3-Person teams
  • 5k event only
  • First team member to register assigns team name. Subsequent members enter team name to join the team.
  • Winning score is the team with the lowest combined time (sum of all three runners 5k times).
5k & 10-Mile Runner Benefits:
  • Men and women’s specific technical shirts
  • Flat, fast course that starts and finishes at the spectacular California State Capitol
  • Post-race finish line festival
  • Medals for all 10-mile and 5k finishers!

  • Special ribbon for all finishers
  • Refreshments in the finish area
  • The Miracle Mile is an untimed event with no results or special awards for top finishers. There will be a clock at the finish line, and all runners will receive a ribbon.
Cancellation Policy:

No refunds. No transfers. No deferrals. No exceptions. Once you have completed the registration process you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate, you may not give or sell your number to anyone else, and you may not defer your entry fee to a future race.

All races (1-mile, 5k, and 10-mile) will start and finish at these locations.

Rules and Guidelines for All Entrants:
  • No pets.
  • No unregistered runners, walkers or pacers.
  • Wearing headphone, iPods or Walkman-type radios is discouraged.
  • No baby joggers, inline skates or bicycles.
  • Strollers and wheelchairs are not allowed in the 10-mile.
  • Race services are limited to a 1:00 finish time (19:22/mile pace) in the 5k and a 2:30 finish time (15 minute/mile pace) in the 10-mile. Anyone proceeding slower than this pace must follow pedestrian rules, and race management cannot guarantee that finish times of these finishers will be published.
  • No one other than the runner who officially registered may use the bib number with timing tag issued to that runner. Transferring and/or selling your bib is illegal.
  • The start line closes 5 minutes after the start time of the given race. Runners who attempt to start after this time will not be allowed to start.
  • Bib numbers must not be altered, should be worn on the front of the runner, and be clearly visible at all times.
  • The Miracle Mile is an untimed event with no results or special awards for top finishers. There will be a clock at the finish line, and all runners will receive a ribbon.
  • Hand crank bicycles are not allowed and there is no official hand crank division. If you are a disabled athlete who would like to participate in a hand crank bicycle, you may request an accommodation through USA Track & Field’s ADA Accommodations Request process. (Please note: Evaluation of this request may take 4-6 weeks.)
