 
 
In 2011, our Tour de FIT Series provided faster runners with points that resulted in prizes. That was fun, but was no different than many of the other series events in the region. This year, we will commit ourselves to stay in sync with our foundation’s mission and place ALL focus to reward our athletes (of all speeds) to simply stay active throughout the year. In other words, It's an opportunity for you to earn a little extra something for your commitment to stay healthy.

Simply put, the Tour de FIT Series was designed to provide a goal in order to get more people to exercise in a fun and exciting environment. The intent of the Series is to challenge each participant to set goals by placing events on their calendar for the next seven months. The series does not reward nor penalize a participant on the time it takes to finish, but rather focuses on completion of the event(s). Setting goals is an important element needed to sustain your fitness level and the Tour de FIT series is simply a venue to keep you and your running partner in check. And by setting goals and sticking to them, we will reward you for your dedication. By participating in three of four events you earn a cool award and at the same time you reward yourself for keeping up on your goal. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you finish, it just matters that you are out there participating. The swag is simply a bonus.
 
The Tour de FIT Series is comprised of several events that the A Change of Pace Foundation owns or manages. We will split the year in two halves: Jan-July & Aug. –Dec. The first half of 2012 includes four events: The Davis Stampede (Feb. 5), Lucky Run (Mar. 17), Capital City Classic (April 22) and the Davis Moo-nlight Races (July 14).
In early 2012 we will announce the second half of the series and the incentives.

We're giving you the choice between two items. We need you to decide when you sign up. You can choose from one of two items:
- Pint glass with Tour de FIT logo printed on one side, plus a free fill of Sudwerk beer, on us, at the Davis Moo-nlight Run. (Must be 21 or over to receive the beer)
- A heavyweight Tour de FIT medallion . . . . with a cool GLOW in the dark feature.

So glad you asked! You can receive both if you are REALLY committed to being fit this year ... and by participating in ALL FOUR events in the first half of the series.

The Tour de FIT Series is designed to be SUPER EASY:
(1) Sign up and commit to be fit via our online form. (Free) LINK HERE.
(2) Select your bling when signing up: Choose from either a pint glass with a free fill at the Moo-nlight Run, or a Tour de FIT Medal. The medal will GLOW (we're giving it out at the Moonlight Run, after all!).
- - - Those planning on signing up for all FOUR events in the first half of the series - please select both the pint glass and medal.
(3) Register for any distance, 5K or longer,
in any three of the four events in the Series.
(4) Claim your prize at the Davis Moo-nlight Race on July 14th.

Signing up for the series is free. You must sign up for the series itself (not the individual events) by May 1st so that we can order the medals and pint glasses and have them in time for the Moo-nlight Run. You must register for at least 3 of the events in the series (prices vary). Register early for each event for best pricing.

As our name suggests, we like to mix things up for a 'change of pace.' The 2011 tour was a lot of fun, but we're moving it in a different direction this year and focusing on encouraging people to stay active and fit throughout the year, simply by participating in events - regardless of how fast they finish. The structure of the 2012 Tour will enable many more to take part.

The medals and the pint glasses will be available for pick up at a booth in the post-race area of the Davis Moo-nlight Run on July 14. After you finish the race, you can pick up your prize. Your name will be on a list. Prizes must be picked up at the Moo-nlight Run and will not be mailed. A friend may pick up for you if necessary.
