My Heart Counts 5K/10K at Stanford University raises money and awareness, celebrates survivors
Powerful first-hand accounts from heart patients of how an AED saved their life were solemn but eye-opening moments on Sunday morning, August 19th, at the My Heart Counts Run/Walk, a charity event held at Koret Plaza at Stanford University.
This annual walk/run celebrating life, heart health, and happiness was a family friendly event – little ones in the superheroes kids fun run were even provided with capes and masks, making for some great photos and a enthusiastic atmosphere.
The event was a fundraiser for education and screening programs for heart disease, services like heart disease tests for those in need, and advancing cutting-edge research to prevent or cure heart diseases.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his family were in attendance; Mark and his wife Priscilla ran the 5K race while their child (pictured to right) ran the kids fun run.
Complete race results can be found here.
