Run on 2/24 for #224
On 2/24, we will honor badge #224.
We at a Change of Pace Foundation, like many members of our community, are deeply saddened by the passing of Officer Natalie Corona. Her inspiration and dedication were beyond impressive. The outpouring of community support since the tragedy, from local businesses to community members, reminds us why we love this city.
Over the past 31 years, the Davis Police Department’s involvement with ACoP events has played an integral role to help ensure the safety of each and every participant. We continue to stand by their side with heavy hearts. We feel it is vital to recognize and remember Natalie’s efforts and the impact she had on the department and community. Given the fact that she enjoyed fitness, and especially running, we wish to symbolize the departments void by keeping her spirit alive at all of our Davis-based events for the entire 2019 season.
This year the Davis Stampede falls on February 24, or 2/24. This date was also the badge number of Officer Corona (224) who enthusiastically assisted at some of our recent events.
As part of ACoP’s tribute to Officer Corona, we plan to place her badge number, 224, on all Davis-based event t-shirts this year. We will also be making a contribution of $2.24 from each Davis Stampede entry to the Davis Police Department, which will be used at their discretion in her memory. We are confident her commitment, enthusiasm and smile has set the bar for many others to follow.
