timing matsOur registration and timing department offers disposable chip timing. Our disposable chip timing system is a cutting edge system produced by RFID Timing of Australia. The system uses passive, label-thin RFID timing chips that are attached to the back each runner’s bib number. This allows for a free-flow of finishers through your race finish line (no chip collection, lanes, etc).

A Change of Pace Foundation

Encouragement, Education and Facilitation of Life-Long Habits Towards a Healthy Lifestyle

The A Change of Pace Foundation is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization, established in 2007 after many years of conducting events as A Change of Pace Inc (est. 1987). Based in Davis, CA, the Foundation’s annual efforts include healthy family-oriented events, youth exercise programs (with specific focus on elementary school-age children), kids triathlons and camps, and community education.

The Foundation is administered by a Board of Directors, of whom meet monthly. The Foundation relies on grants, donations, and special event income & sponsorships to fund our programs and events.

We have more than twenty years of experience on the local, regional and national level in the running and multisport field. The Positive Energy Campaign, established in 2006, was designed to encourage positive exercise for kids through fun, fitness-oriented events. This Campaign now includes four high-profile events, including one of the largest kids triathlons in the country, the California Kids Triathlon. With less than 30% of tested K-12 students in California meeting the criteria to be in the “Healthy Fitness Zone,” we are striving to increase the number of kids we reach with our programs and events. Our events serve as a motivational tool for our after-school exercise programs.

The A Change of Pace Foundation strives to “encourage, educate and motivate kids to inspire life-long habits towards a healthy lifestyle.”

Big News!! ⭐️ We're happy to share that the Half Marathon distance will be returning to the 2022 Davis Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 19th. We have a brand-new course we think you'll love. It will kick off the morning at 7:50 a.m.

We have also made the following changes to the event:

-> Addition of Adaptive Sub-Divisions for the timed events; with prizes to the top finishers by gender per subdivision. Adaptive Divisions are: Wheelchair; Duo Team (an able-bodied runner or walker pushing a non-ambulatory person in a customized racing wheelchair); Visually Impaired; Limb Deficiency/Limb Difference; Intellectual Impairment.

-> A Dog Division for the 2 Mile; dogs entered in this category will be ranked by size. Top Dogs will receive prizes. (Dog Division is optional). Enter the dog division during your usual 2 Mile registration process for the human entrant. No extra fee for Dog Division entry.

-> An Adaptive Kids 50yd Event for ages 18 and Under to be inclusive of youth participants with a disability and/or who use an assistive mobility technology

-> Re-routing of all the Kids Events so they start and finish in the same place (on B Street)

-> Awards to Unofficial 15K finishers (top three by gender)

We're hard at work to ensure 2022 is the best year yet for all our Davis Turkey Trotters.

🐶 Who will be the "Top Dog" this year in the Davis Turkey Trot 'Dog Jog' 2 Mile Race?

The 2-Mile "Dog Jog" division (benefiting the @yolo_spca ) is the perfect distance for both runners and walkers to participate with their pup.

This year, at the request of many past participants, we are adding a NEW option: to have 2 Mile results for dogs. Dogs will be classified into divisions by size and the top dogs (pun intended😄) in each division will receive a prize.

Dog division entry is handled during the registration process for the 2 Mile race. Entering the dog division is optional and will not remove you from the human race results, and you'll still be eligible for (human) age division awards.

One dog may be registered for the dog division per human entrant. If two people will be running with one dog (as shown above), you should only enter the dog in the dog division on one of the human's entries (not both).

Deadline to enter your dog in the dog division is Wednesday, November 16. Race day is Saturday, November 19th.
