Make a Change
A Change of Pace Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Davis, CA. Our scope of services include: full and partial event management, comprehensive registration and chip timing services, event consulting, event marketing and equipment rentals. The proceeds from our events, contracted events and timing services are used to support fitness-based activities that benefit our community as well as other deserving area non-profit groups. These include programs include school fitness programs, scholarships and grants to events and program equipment.
A Change of Pace Foundation currently has four full-time employees, two 80% part-time employees, and 18 weekend (event) part-time event enthusiasts.

About the Position:
A Change of Pace Foundation is seeking enthusiastic, motivated individuals who are interested in becoming part of our registration and timing crew. This is a part time position with hours available on the weekends. The ideal candidate will have previous familiarity with running/walking or triathlon events, be a quick learner, and have strong computer skills. This is a weekend position with early morning hours; most days the employee must report to work anywhere between 4:00 and 5:30 AM and the day is complete anywhere from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The position is based in Davis, CA with events in the Sacramento and SF Bay area. Some overnight travel may be occasionally required. This is a year-round position.
Primary Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to…)
- Set Up and manage race day registration, resolve problems and instruct volunteers
- Set Up and oversee timing points (antenna mats, side antenna, control boxes, cables, laptop)
- Set Up and oversee results computers; assist athletes with results and resolve questions
Secondary Responsibilities may include:
- Data Entry (the ideal candidate will be an accurate and decent typist)
- File manipulation in excel (the ideal candidate will be proficient in excel)
- Race set up and break down (may include lifting items up to 30 lbs)
- Promotional item distribution (medals, shirts, etc) with inventory tracking
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- General computer knowledge, such as identifying wireless network, familiarity with browsers, etc
- Enthusiastic about running/triathlon/walking events
- Comfortable instructing groups of volunteers (speaking to groups of 15+)
- Team player, outgoing, eager to learn
- Customer service experience
- Ability to trouble shoot, take initiative and problem solve independently
Bonus points for those who:
- Have previous experience with event production or timing
- More-than-average computer knowledge, particularly networking and database management
- Love getting up really early in the morning
Starting Pay:
- $10-$14 per hour; commensurate upon experience.

About the Position:

This is a part time position with hours available on the weekdays. This position requires incredible attention to detail. This is a weekday position with hours from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM on most occasions; job location is in Woodland. Approximately 6-10 hours per week from March through November.
Primary Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to…)
- Race bib prep, including affixing timing chips, spacers, labels and quality control
Secondary Responsibilities may include:
- Data Entry (the ideal candidate will be an accurate and decent typist)
- File manipulation in excel (the ideal candidate will be proficient in excel)
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Very detail-oriented
- Quick learner; ability to work efficiently
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- General computer knowledge, such as identifying wireless network, familiarity with browsers, etc
- Team player, outgoing, eager to learn
Bonus points for those who:
- Have previous experience with event production or timing
- More-than-average computer knowledge, particularly networking and database management

About the Position:
A Change of Pace Foundation is seeking enthusiastic, motivated individuals who are interested in becoming part of our event production department. This is a part time position with hours available on both the weekdays and weekends. This position will involve contacting potential companies and groups regarding exhibitor opportunities at ACoP events and overseeing the exhibitor area on race day. The Marketing Assistant will also be involved in marketing the event to potential participants at other events and in stores (postcard distribution). Attendance at ACoP-owned events will be required.
Primary Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to…)
- Contacting potential exhibitors via e-mail, phone, walk in about the event; and following up
- Promoting ACoP events at other races via booths
- Promoting ACoP events at other races/retail shops via postcards
- Set up and oversee the exhibitor area on race day
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Very detail-oriented
- Quick learner; ability to work efficiently
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent phone and e-mail skills, including appropriate business-letter writing
- General computer knowledge, familiarity with browsers, outlook, etc
- Team player, outgoing, eager to learn, eager to talk to participants at booths

- Have previous experience with event production, marketing or timing
