Frequently Asked Questions
- Are strollers allowed in the 5K or 10K?
- Yes.
- Can I run/walk with my dog ?
- Yes – if they are well-behaved in crowds and around other dogs, and on a nonretractable leash. Please bring baggies and have a plan to ensure they drink enough water.
- Does the Kid’s Run include a finisher medal?
- No, but they will receive a finisher’s ribbon.
- Do you offer booth space?
- Yes – you can sign up for a booth here.
- I noticed the option to participate in the Dog Division. Could you explain? Does it cost more?
- The dog division is just for fun – no extra cost and no prizes. When you sign up for the event, the registration form will ask you for your dog’s name if you plan on running or walking with a dog. Enter his/her (or their) name in the space provided. This is also so our announcer can cheer your pup in when they finish. The next question on the form asks if you would like to enter your dog in the dog division. If yes, indicate yes. The times will be computer based on your race bib, so there is nothing extra for you to pin to your body or your dog’s leash.
- Do dogs get a finisher medal?
- They do not.
- What amenities will you have post-race?
- We will have fruit and complimentary post-race pancakes, plus vendor booths, including Milestones Movement, who will offer complimentary post race stretching and massage.
- Where can we pick up our Summer Challenge medals?
- They will be available for pick up at the entrance to the Tour de FIT booth.
- If we didn’t pick up an award on race day, how can we get it?
- Congrats! Awards will be available for pick up at Fleet Feet in Davis starting Wednesday 9/7 at 12 Noon. Unclaimed awards are not mailed.
- What is the nonbinary gender category for?
- The nonbinary gender choice is an option for participants to select if their self-stated gender falls outside the gender binary of male and female. Awards are presented equally to participants in the male, female, and nonbinary categories.
- We also offer the option of “prefer not to say” if you would rather not indicate your gender in the race results. There are no age group awards for those who indicate prefer not to say.
- How can I register without a credit card?
- On race morning, we will accept cash, as well as debit/credit.
- I signed up for the 10K but would like to switch to the 5K. What do I do?

The Davis Labor Day Race event will benefit Cancer Champions, which is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides its members with online nutrition, fitness and mindset program designed specifically for those battling cancer.
When it comes to fitness and nutrition, cancer patients are told to eat right and exercise, but they often don’t know what to do, and oncologists usually don’t have enough time in the day to explain in detail. Cancer Champions bridges the gap between hospital and home, providing cancer patients with expert-built fitness programs, recipes and meal plans, and guided yoga practices that they can do from the comfort and safety of their home.
Funds and donations raised from these races will be used to provide sponsorships for cancer patients to participate in Cancer Champions.
