Oakland Running Festival
ABOUT THE RACE
This year marks the 13th Oakland Running Festival and it is on the map to stay. It has been nationally recognized as the Bay Area race to run! We are excited to offer both a live and virtual event in 2022!
Join us and experience Oakland’s diversity and beauty with a race that touches all aspects of Oaktown, and finishes with one hella awesome party.
When at the starting line, please position yourself near the sign closest to your expected finish time. Signs will be posted in 1 minute increments from 5 minute miles up to 14+ minute miles.
The course will remain open until 2 pm (7 hours) , closing on a continuous pace of 16:00 minutes per mile. Anyone who cannot maintain this pace must move to the sidewalks as the course closes to allow regular vehicular traffic to resume.
The half-marathon is open to participants at least 14 years of age on race day.
The Kaiser Permanente Half Marathon will start at 9am and the course will close after 4.5 hours. Anyone who cannot finish the race in this time must move to the sidewalks as the course closes to allow regular vehicular traffic to resume.
Corrigan Sports announced today the permanent addition of the distance to Oakland’s biggest celebration of running. The team relay has been phased out to accommodate the new 10K distance, but relay participants from previous years are encouraged to form a social team. Social teams allow runners of all distances to partner up and earn discounts and other benefits.
In addition to a one of a kind race shirt, every registered runner will be awarded with the event’s Oakland mural inspired medal. Those who run the 10K virtually, will have the option to run wherever they chose! For more information on running the 10K virtually, visit HERE.
Come Run the Total Health Dental Care 5K! Come one come all! The Total Health Dental Care 5K Race is open to participants of all ages and is the perfect way to be a part of the Oakland Running Festival celebration without miles of pre-race training or post-race recovery! The Total Health Dental Care 5K will run through the city streets starting and ending at Snow Park. Participants will use the same start and finish line as the marathon and half-marathon. The course will include one (1) water stop at the halfway point and everyone will celebrate their accomplishments at the Celebration Village.
Medals for 5K Finishers! Thanks to our friends at Total Health Dental Care, our 5k finishers will receive a finisher medal when they cross the finish line. We are excited to be able to honor our participants in this way and hope every one of our participants will proudly display a medal that they worked hard to earn.
We Run the Town Challenge! We all know runners are crazy but now you have a chance to prove it! Sign up for the We Run the Town Challenge and complete the 5K and the half-marathon on the same day and earn a special third medal for your collection. LEARN MORE HERE.
