How A Change of Pace Foundation Uses Your Personal Information

This policy covers how A Change of Pace Foundation treats personal information that A Change of Pace Foundation collects and receives, including information related to your past or current race registration. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.

This privacy policy only applies to A Change of Pace Foundation

This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that A Change of Pace Foundation does not own or control, or to people that A Change of Pace Foundation does not employ or manage. For example, this privacy policy does not pertain to policies set forth by events which we provide services for, but do not own, including those events which we are hired to provide race management and/or provide timing services.

Information Collection and Use

A Change of Pace Foundation collects personal information when you register for a running event owned and produced by A Change of Pace Foundation, when you visit A Change of Pace Foundations pages at or our affiliated sites at or at

When you register we may ask for information such as your name, email address, birth date, gender, ZIP code, address and personal interests. Generally we collect information in order to provide you with the service for which you are registering (ie. a running, walking or triathon event). When you register with A Change of Pace Foundation and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us.

A Change of Pace Foundation automatically receives and records information from your computer and browser, including your IP address, cookie information, software and hardware attributes, and the page you request.

A Change of Pace Foundation uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the advertising and content you see, fulfill your requests for products and services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.


When A Change of Pace Foundation has knowledge that a child under age 18 is attempting to register for an event, we ask the child to have a parent or guardian complete the registration process for them.

We use the information that we gather about you for the following purposes:

  • To provide our services to you, to communicate with you about your use of our services and for other customer service purposes
  • To provide information that you have requested to receive from us in response to your opt-in or opt-out requests
  • To produce events
  • To provide results from events
  • To customize the content and information that we may send or display to you, and to otherwise personalize your experiences while using our website or our services
  • To improve our website and services by providing personalized experiences, location customization, personalized help and instructions
  • For research purposes
  • To send you email, follow-up questions about your event, news and newsletters, special offers, and promotions
  • To better understand how users access and use our website(s), both on an aggregated and individualized basis


We may share your information, including personally identifiable information, third parties as outlined below.

  • Users of A Change of Pace Foundation website(s) and applications. Your user name and any information that you post to any of our aforementioned websites, including, without limitation pictures, comments and text, will be available to all other users of our website(s). This information also will be searchable by all users of our website. This information is publicly available upon posting. This includes, for example, a comment, photo or other action initiated by you on a webpage within our site.
  • Affiliates. We may disclose the information we collect from you to our affiliates or subsidiaries; however, if we do so, their use and disclosure of your information will be subject to this policy.
  • Event Sponsors or Partners. If you are using one of our above-listed website(s) to register for an event or to purchase a third party product or service, A Change of Pace Foundation shares the personal information you provide with any applicable third parties in order to fulfill your request. You may receive emails or direct mail from these entities; each such party operates independently from A Change of Pace Foundation and maintains its own privacy policy.
  • Service Providers on Our Behalf. We may disclose the information we collect from you to third party vendors, service providers, contractors or agents who perform functions on our behalf. For example, these providers may help us administer our website(s) or manage and administer events. These third parties have agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security and integrity of information, and to only use such information for the purposes for which they have been engaged by us. For example, this may include professional photos from a race event in which you participated.


  • Business Transfers. If we are acquired by or merged with another company, if substantially all of our assets are transferred to another company, or as part of a bankruptcy proceeding, we may transfer the information we have collected from you to the acquiring company.
  • In Response to Legal Process. We also may disclose the information we collect from you in order to comply with the law, a judicial proceeding, court order or other legal process, such as in response to a subpoena.
  • To Protect A Change of Pace Foundation and Others. We also may disclose the information we collect from you where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person or violations of our Terms of Use or this Policy, or as otherwise required by law.
  • We have a parent’s permission to share the information if the user is a child under age 18.
Your Ability to Edit and Delete Your Personal Information and Preferences


You can edit your Registration Info, or your marketing preferences, at any time.

New categories of marketing communications might be added to the Marketing Preferences page from time to time. Users who visit this page can opt out of receiving future marketing communications from these new categories or they can unsubscribe by following instructions contained in the messages they receive.

We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the A Change of Pace Foundation service, such as registration receipts and important administrative messages, that are considered part of your A Change of Pace Foundation event entry, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them.


We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.

A Change of Pace Foundation may update or change this privacy policy. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your race registration or by placing a prominent notice on our site.


We also may provide you with the opportunity to connect via Facebook or Twitter, through or any of our affiliated results or registration websites. For example, you can share with friends that you are going to participate in an Event and invite your Facebook friends to join that Event. If you log into Facebook through or our affiliated websites, we will request permission to (a) access your basic information, which includes your name, profile picture, gender, networks, Facebook user ID, list of friends, and any other information that you have made public on Facebook; and (b) manage your events (so that A Change of Pace Foundation may RSVP on your behalf). For information about how Facebook may disclose your information, including any information you make public, please consult the Facebook Privacy Policy. We have no control over how Facebook uses or discloses the personal information you provide to it. We store the information that we receive from Facebook along with other information that we collect from you or receive about you.


We also may collect information, including personally identifiable information, about you from our websites, affiliates and non-affiliated third parties. For example, where permitted by law, we may share information we collect about you among affiliates to identify products and services that we believe might be of interest to you.


We may use cookies, web beacons, and other automated devices to collect information, including personally identifiable information, about you when you visit our website and receive emails from us. Our website(s) and applications are not designed for children under 18. When you register for an event with us, we require you to submit a birth date and agree to a liability waiver. Only those persons age 18 or older may create an perform such tasks. Certain events posted on or our affiliated sites are open to children under the age of 18. If registration for such an event is available, then we require a parent or guardian to register for the child.

Third party applications may be available on our website(s). The owners or providers of those third party applications may collect personally identifiable information from you. Their collection of information is bound by their own information collection policies and practices. We are not responsible for the collection and use of your information by third parties.

A Change of Pace Foundation may send you emails from time-to-time, for example, to ask you about an event in which you participated or to inform you of other similar events in the future.

If, at any time, you would like to stop receiving the information that you have requested to receive from us, you may follow the opt-out instructions contained in any such e-mail. Please note that it may take up to 7 business days for us to process opt-out requests. If you opt-out of receiving emails or promotions from us, we still may send you e-mails about your account or any services you have requested or received from us, or for other customer services purposes, such as an event registration receipt. Some special offers or promotions may only be available via newsletter, but a copy will be posted in our Press Room on our website for viewing by those who have opted out of the newsletter.

Your use our Sites or Services, as well as any dispute over privacy, is subject to this Policy and our Terms of Use, including applicable limitations on damages and the resolution of disputes.

If you are located outside of the United States, please note that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our website, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, which does not have data protection laws that provide the same level of protection that exists in countries in the European Economic Area. Maya Miramontes

Volunteer and Site Coordinator

Maya participated in her first A Change of Pace event at the age of 3 months. From there she followed her siblings in participating in a multitude of events from runs to kids’ triathlons. While growing up with parents who ran a sports marketing firm, she had no choice but to attend most events her entire youth life. Now as an adult, she has returned (by her own choice) and now serves as the volunteer and site coordinator. In addition, she has also been instrumental in the 2024 design and transitioning of our new website. We are fortunate to have her tackle one of the more critical areas that are considered the backbone of any event, volunteers. Maya resides in Davis and In her spare time she spends time as a dog trainer while simultaneously assisting other local nonprofit organizations such as the Yolo County SPCA and Cancer Champions.

Alec Miramontes

Event Oversight and Volunteer Management

Alec, a graduate of the University of Oregon, oversees course and volunteer management on event day. He also helps coordinate infrastructure set up and tear down, equipment management and assists with race timing.

Dave Miramontes

Executive Director

Dave brings an impressive 36 years of event production, marketing, advertising, and graphic design experience to the team. Dave has not only been a decorated athlete, but he also understands how good teamwork can lead to a successful outcome. Having 4 active kids has allowed him to stay involved in youth sports as well as being active within the community. As the Executive Director of A Change of Pace, he still enjoys his role as the logistics coordinator for all Foundation and outside client events. In addition, he oversees course design & safety, city & police relations, graphic design, advertising, marketing, and creative concepts. Dave resides in Davis with his wife Jen and has 4 very cool kids, all of which has worked at A Change of Pace at one point or another.

Jeannine Henderson

Treasurer, Assistant Race Director & Head Timer

Jeannine not only oversees the day-to-day operations; she handles one of the most critical elements within the organization; the registration and timing department. Aside from overseeing the computerized timing department and client/participant relations, she handles our social media and website changes and medal/award design. Her guidance and organizational skills have become a huge value to the organization as she provides much of the input on special projects such as the Tour De Fit.

Jennifer Miramontes

Board Member

Jennifer has over twenty years of experience in the marketing field, including positions as the Marketing Director for Chevys Fresh Mex restaurants and Real Mex restaurants. Jennifer also has extensive experience developing community programs geared towards children, having served on the Board of Directors for the Davis Schools Foundation as well as the Patwin PTA. Jennifer has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Pepperdine University, and is also a certified personal trainer. A runner herself, Jennifer has completed numerous triathlons and over 50 marathons, including top age-group finishes in high profile events such as the Boston Marathon and the Rock N Roll Marathon. Jennifer owns FIT House in Davis and enjoys inspiring her clients to reach their fitness goals.
