Ready for the Lucky Run? ☀️ (race info inside)

Thank you for pre-registering for the Lucky Run

Hi Maya,

We’re in the final stages of preparation for next Saturday’s 13th Annual Lucky Run. We are thrilled that you have made plans to join us for this year’s race taking place on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

We have you registered as follows:

Maya Miramontes
Distance: n/a Start Time: n/a
Gender: n/a  Age on race day: n/a  Shirt size: n/a

* If you wish to change your distance, (e.g. you injured your foot and would like to move from the 10K to the 5K), please email us so that we can modify your division and ensure you’re registered for the race that you plan to complete.

General race info

  • Start/Finish Location: Davis High School gym lot, 1612 Oak Avenue, Davis, CA 95616
  • Start Times: 8:00 a.m. – 5K; 8:10 a.m. – 2K, 7K, & 10K; 9:30 a.m. – Kids Fun Run
  • Parking: Parking is available in the main lot for the high school, located at 315 West 14th Street, Davis, CA 95616 as well as on surrounding residential streets (please note any permit restrictions). There is a parking map on our website here.
  • Bib & T-shirt Pick Up: Takes place on race morning starting at 6:30 a.m. This will be located in the plaza adjacent to the parking lot where the start/finish is located. You do not need to bring anything to check-in and pick up your bib.
  • When to Arrive: We suggest arriving by 7:00 a.m. (8:30 a.m. for the Kids Run)
  • Restrooms: This venue offers permanent, “real” restrooms, which is why we like it. They are located in between the plaza where our booths will be set up and the high school track.

Course etiquette and rules

  • Please line up by anticipated pace at the starting line. Only people planning to run a 6:00 mile or faster should be at the very front. Please ensure that children are not lined up at the front. Your time does not start until you cross the mats under the banner.
  • Much of the course takes place on shady, tree-lined greenbelts. As such, please run or walk on the right and pass on the left (like a freeway). Please do not walk/run more than two-three people abreast as this makes it difficult for people behind you to pass.
  • There will be water stations along the course offering both water and Gatorade. Please be sure to dispose of any trash in the provided cans at the water stations.
  • Strollers: Strollers are allowed at this race. Please plan to start toward the back.
  • Dogs: While we traditionally have allowed well-behaved dogs at our events, we have had a change in our insurance providers’ policy since our race last month (in February) and regretfully, they do not permit dogs at the events (except for service dogs). We are working to find a different insurer for our remaining races this year that allows dogs (please keep your paws crossed!) In the meantime, unfortunately your four-legged training pal will need to sit this one out.

Preview the course(s) before race day

  • If you’re part of our virtual running club on Strava, you can preview each of the four routes within our club, including a pre-race run or walk to train for the big day. Joining Strava is completely free and there is no future obligation when joining our virtual running club. Join here.
  • We have printable course maps on our website here: 5K/7K/10K | 2K
  • View a training run of the 5K course on our Instagram page here.
  • View a 3D virtual flyover of the 10K course on our Instagram here
  • Watch a preview of the 7K here
  • While you’re there, we’d love for you to follow us on Instagram! Your support is appreciated.

Virtual participants

  • Packets for Virtual Participants will be mailed out April 1-4.
  • Times may be uploaded to our results page starting March 29. (optional)

After you finish

  • We will have pancakes, fruit, and other complimentary refreshments available for finishers
  • There will be a “selfie station” where you can take pics for the ‘gram
  • Please stop by our race beneficiary, Cancer Champions booth, to learn how you can help cancer patients directly by participating in their 5K/10K race this coming September
  • Please tag us @a_change_of_pace in your Instagram stories and posts – we love to see them and sometimes repost a few (if your account is public)

Race results and awards

  • All finishers (including for the Kids Run) will receive a medal at the finish line (see a preview below).
  • On race day, your bib number will have a QR code on the front of it. Scan this with your phone camera to be linked to our results page online.
  • You can also visit results.changeofpace.com.
  • Award medals will be presented to the top 3 finishers overall (by gender) in each of the four timed races (based on gun time). Age group awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each age group (by gender) based on net time. Please check the results before you leave to see how you placed, even if you do not usually win any awards. Awards are not mailed out post-race.
