Support Our Beneficiary: Cancer Champions
Nobody wants to go on a cancer journey, but if it is your or a loved one’s reality, Cancer Champions is an indispensable resource and ready to be part of your support team.
What makes them unique is
- Their program offers customized fitness & nutrition plans specific to a person’s cancer type and medical treatment plan in place.
- These programs are designed to both fight off the cancer and keep the body as strong as possible while enduring treatment.
- Also included is mindset guidance and a community of individuals for emotional support.
Cancer Champions was the beneficiary of our Labor Day race, and their own run/walk is this coming Sunday, Sept. 7 in West Sac. This year’s event offers a brand new, never used before 10K course that crosses the Tower Bridge and runs along both sides of the Sacramento River. We think you’ll love it!
We would love for you to join A Change of Pace in support of their organization’s signature event this Sunday.
Your participation will raise money to provide grants for cancer patients to receive this vital resource. Sign up at cancerchampions.org. 🤍

Athlete Spotlight
Shirley and her daughter Sheryl are frequent participants in the Davis Labor Day Run – here they are pictured in 2023 and again this past Monday. Thank you so much to you both for making the event an annual tradition!
Shirley’s story is so inspiring – she didn’t start running until age 70 and is now 94 years young!
It’s truly never too late to take up exercising.
