The Perfect End To Your Summer

Schedule Your End-of-Summer Fun

with family, friends, or yourself!

The Davis Labor Day Races are a longstanding Downtown Davis tradition on Labor Day – a chance for an early morning run or walk, some post-race snacks, all before 10am. The 8am start gives you plenty of time to get home and ready for any BBQ’s you might have later in the day.  This year’s event will be held Monday, September 2nd at Central Park.

What strikes us these days are how our running and walking events are becoming less about the running and walking ‘race’ and competition (though that’s still quite important!) and more about the quality time spent – with a partner, with a child, with friends, or simple quiet ‘me’ time – and the ever-increasing importance of investing in ourselves, in healthy habits like exercising, and in experiences that we will remember for months and years to come.

Will the Davis Labor Day Runs be one of your summertime final hurrahs? We hope so!

The event offers traditional 5K and 10K courses, plus an all-ages, timed One Mile, and a Kids 1/4 Mile Fun Run. Runners, walkers, wheelchairs, and people of all abilities are welcome to take part.  The event is stroller and dog-friendly (dogs must be well-behaved and non-reactive in crowds / around other dogs).

Sign up by August 8th before prices increase at the link below. A fancy finisher’s medal and pancakes await you at the finish line!

Now as an adult, she has returned (by her own choice) and now serves as the volunteer and site coordinator. In addition, she has also been instrumental in the 2024 design and transitioning of our new website. We are fortunate to have her tackle one of the more critical areas that are considered the backbone of any event, volunteers. Maya resides in Davis and In her spare time she spends time as a dog trainer while simultaneously assisting other local nonprofit organizations such as the Yolo County SPCA and Cancer Champions.

In addition, he oversees course design & safety, city & police relations, graphic design, advertising, marketing, and creative concepts.
